Robin
Irvine, Born 1945, Tyrone.
Robin played in several bands in Enniskillen with
KB in the mid '50's and early '60's, then moved
to Belfast in '62 where he played in the Sundowners,
the Kentuckians and the Murky Deeds, also with
KB. Robin joined the Dominoes as a singer/guitar
player in 1968 and when the Dominoes split in
1969 to form the Group, he joined Heart & Soul.
In 1969 Robin joined the newly formed Chips as
a bass player and in 1970 the band turned Pro.
He moved to Dublin and remained with Chips till
1974, when he left and formed Bananas.

In
1975 Bananas left for the US. The band lasted
a year in New York, then disbanded.
Robin went on to play in several other NY groups
during the height of the Disco Era and finally
hung up his bass in 1979, when he took a job as
a roadie with Barry Manilow.
This led to a 20 year career in the States as
a tour manager for artists such as Angela Bofill,
the B52's, the Eurthymics, the Scorpions, ELP,
Cyndi Lauper and most recently Sting and Anastacia.
Robin stopped touring in 2000 to spend more time
with his family and now works in the marine industry
in New York selling power boats on the Hudson
River, NY. .
